There is more to this AMG issue for Naples than the apparent first day cancels. The hint is given by the loose twenty cent value to the right of it. Notice the thinner characters of the overprint. Apparently, this was an essay setting. The question now is did they use up the essays in making FDC's for the collectors or is the whole item questionable?
